Police responded to a reported shooting on Hukilau Drive. When they arrived, Watson came out of his house in an agitated state. He began fighting with officers and pinned one to a boat trailer, according to police and an autopsy report. Watson struggled while officers tried to detain him, and one officer put kneeled on Watson's thigh to get control of him. Watson become unresponsive. Officers and EMS personnel tried to revive him but were unsuccessful. The manner of Watson's death was left undetermined, but the medical examiner wrote that meth, alcohol and the struggle with officers contributed to his death.
