Police found Barawis, who was on the lam, in a McDonald's drive-thru and old him to exit his vehicle. He rammed two police cars. Officers shot him and wounded a female passenger. She later sued the county, alleging that Barawis did not ram the police cars and that officers shot without provocation. Police recovered multiple firearm's from the car Barawis was driving.
